Nowadays, car engines adopt full-flow filtration systems. What is full traffic?

That is, all the oil passes through the oil filter, leaving impurities before supply. That is, the engine is filtered from time to time, and every drop of oil is filtered.

There is a pressure difference in the filtration system: the oil inlet pressure is high and the oil outlet pressure is low. This is inevitable. If you wear a mask, it is also a filtering system. You will find air resistance when breathing.

When the engine oil filter is working, there is a pressure difference. The pressure of the oil pump is high, while the pressure output to the main lubricating oil passage of the engine is slightly low. By using filter paper with a large filtration capacity or new filter paper, the pressure difference is very small, so it can ensure full-flow filtration. If the pressure difference is large, the oil inlet end is blocked, the flow rate at the oil outlet end is small, and the pressure in the main oil passage is also low, this is very dangerous. To ensure the pressure supply of the main oil passage, the bypass valve is designed at the bottom of the oil filter. When the pressure difference reaches a certain level, the bypass valve opens, allowing the oil to directly enter the main oil passage for re-circulation without being filtered through the filter paper. At this point, it is not full-flow filtering but partial filtering. If the oil is deeply oxidized and the sludge and gum cover the surface of the filter paper, it enters the bypass valve circulation mode and no filtration is required. So, we should change the engine oil and oil filter regularly! At the same time, choose a good oil filter element. Don't try to be cheap. Buy filter elements with a low filtration grade.

Several reasons and conditions for opening a bypass valve:
There are too many impurities and dirt on the filter paper. The flow rate can be filtered at a low speed. When the speed is high, the flow bypass valve is opened for partial filtration.

1. After the filter paper flow rate drops, the oil flow rate increases sharply - for instance, when the speed suddenly rises to 4000-5000 RPM, the bypass valve is opened for partial filtration.
2. If the engine oil is not changed for a long time, the drain hole of the oil filter paper will be covered or blocked - in this way, the bypass valve can be opened at any speed, including idle speed.

Filter paper with poor filter elements has low filtration accuracy and fails to achieve the filtration effect.
