The consequences of a dirty air filter

There are many potential consequences of not replacing dirty air filters. The first problem is the reduction of fuel mileage. This problem costs you more money on the pump.

If you continue to drive with a dirty air filter, the consequences may become even more serious. Performance will begin to be affected. If it gets bad enough, a dusty air filter could cause damage to the engine, catalytic converter, DPF filter, oxygen sensor and other important components, leading to expensive repairs.

This is not good for the environment either. Unbalanced combustion will result in increased emissions, which cannot be effectively filtered out by catalytic converters or DPF filters. Vehicles with dirty air filters may have a more significant environmental impact than clean air filters.
