Vehicle air conditioning condensation is one of the main causes of cabin filter damp failure, especially during long-distance driving and summer high-temperature operation. When the air conditioner refrigerates continuously, the evaporator produces a large amount of condensed water. Part of the water flows out of the car through the drainage pipe, while residual water vapor and tiny water droplets flow back to the cabin filter with cold air circulation.

For ordinary water-absorbing filters, even a small amount of condensed water can cause continuous dampness. Traditional filter media has no water-repellent ability. Once encountering condensed water vapor, the fibers absorb water rapidly, expand in volume, and block the tiny air passages. After long-term accumulation, the filter element becomes half-wet state, which seriously affects air circulation efficiency.

The greatest harm of condensed water is invisible secondary pollution. Residual water inside the filter mixes with accumulated dust to form mud-like dirt. This kind of damp dirt adheres firmly to the fiber layers and is difficult to remove through natural wind drying. It will continuously breed bacteria and produce peculiar smell, making the car air smell stuffy and uncomfortable for a long time.

Moreover, repeated wetting and drying caused by condensed water will lead to structural fatigue of ordinary filters. The filter paper becomes brittle, the pleats deform and collapse, and the edge sealing sponge ages and hardens. The overall tightness decreases significantly, resulting in air leakage and reduced filtering accuracy.

Upgraded hydrophobic cabin filters can effectively resist condensed water erosion. The special water-repellent fiber structure isolates water vapor penetration, keeps the filter dry during long-term air conditioning operation, maintains stable airflow and filtration efficiency, and avoids condensed water-induced mildew and deformation failure.
